Dr Chia-Ling Tu
"Dr. Chia-Ling Tu is a Research Endocrinologist at the San Francisco VA Medical Center and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Dr Tu’s research focuses on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of the calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) and its vital roles across parathyroid, skeletal, neural, and epidermal tissues. Dr. Tu is credited for generating the floxed-CaSR mouse model, a breakthrough tool distributed globally to define the physiological importance of CaSR in health, disease states, and tissue regeneration. Her recent collaborative work explores targeted pathways, specifically involving amyloid-b and receptor heterocomplexes, to mitigate PTH hypersecretion linked to vitamin D deficiency."
