Noriko Makita, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nephrology and Endocrinology at the University of Tokyo. Her research focuses on calcium and parathyroid disorders, with particular interest in the calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) and G protein-coupled receptor signaling. She has investigated the molecular mechanisms of disorders of calcium homeostasis, including acquired hypocalciuric hypercalcemia associated with autoantibodies against CaSR. Her work aims to bridge clinical observations with molecular mechanisms and to translate these findings into improved diagnosis and treatment of endocrine disorders.
